I have almost decided to write my thesis about love poetry. I will be looking at it this semester, anyway. I have been discouraged from po-mo psycho-babble. But it is possible to compare paintings and the texts that describe them to look for the underlying metaphors. So I'll be looking for poems that are illustrated - if possible. Or maybe just looking at the land of Punt as an Orientalized object. Punt is interesting.

Also At some level, you will have some guarantee that you can apply Orientalism. After all, Ta netjer is to the East of Egypt. :P
