Here's my ba-spirit. Or one of them, anyway. In many ways I feel more colorful than this.
The Egyptians believed that each human body had 3 souls. The akh, I don't understand that one. The Ba, that one was the part of you that is your personality. And the Ka, which was the living part, the thing that distinguishes a dead body from a live one. The Ba was imagined, or at least represented, as a bird with the person's head. The glyph for Ba is a picture of a bird.
